This month, I’d like to focus on our CES Cares initiative. The program was launched in October 2015 for the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign; it grew to not only be an official philanthropic arm of CES, but was also announced in the UK and Canada last year.
I’d first like to update you on Shirt off your Back. The idea of donating old uniform shirts to people in need was originally born of our xperienCES team. After much research, we are partnering with the Dominican Republic Relief Organization to receive the donation.
You first learned of the program at our NAMC conference. New uniforms became available for order in December and the marketing team has collected the old uniforms back in order to arrange shipment. Final deadline for getting the shirts to Dallas is next Friday and we are thrilled for the impact that donation will make – thank you deeply to all the branches that participated in this campaign, we will announce final numbers after March 10.
As a company, we are grateful to be in a position that allows us to give back to our communities, but the truly amazing thing, isn’t a corporate program … it’s how many of our own employees are excited and passionate about volunteering in their own communities. It’s nothing mandated, nor rewarded; it’s just awesome people.
I hear stories from our branches all the time of donated projects, fundraisers, sponsorships, and service.
At Head Office, our events team recently organized a coat drive benefitting The Bridge Homeless Recovery Center. The team donated 60 coats to help the folks in our community get through the remaining days of Winter. They are in the throes of launching a book drive next, which will stock the library at The Bridge.
I want to hear the stories from your branches about the initiatives that are important to you and the projects you support.
