CES Kingsport, TN: Branch Opens with 90 Years of Experience

[Kingsport, TN] – The team at City Electric Supply Kingsport is opening its doors with a crew that has over 90 years of combined experience in the industrial, commercial, and electrical industries.

Branch Manager Paul Ferrell previously owned his own electrical company before he began work with City Electric Supply. He trained with CES for 6 months before he opened his own branch. Ferrell said he feels confident with the experience and skill level of his team they will be able to expertly serve all customers in the area.

“I started working in the electrical field 35 years ago with my dad. I started out as a helper, and I have worked my way up to where I am today. I just wish my dad could be here today to see what I have accomplished.”

After a difficult and long total renovation process, the branch is open on Main Street in Downtown Kingsport where many businesses in the town started. They are surrounded by five competitors, and directly in the middle of the industrial market. CES allows its branch managers autonomy in choosing which products they’d like to stock and how they’d like to run their business, which means they are empowered to make decisions that serve the niche, local market where they do business.

“When I first started, I had lots of ideas about how I wanted to run my branch, but I wasn’t sure I would actually be able to implement them. I was told by all my superiors that it was my store and that they would do everything to help make our branch succeed. I have never worked anywhere where you got this much support and backing.”
