TAMCO Delivers Masterclass to CES Employees about Industrial Motor Control Gear
City Electric Supply (CES) is not your average electrical supplier. Recently, 60 CES employees from over 30 branches gathered with TAMCO employees in North Carolina to prove that point during a motor control gear training.
Any supplier can get you products from top brands, but CES isn’t just any supplier, so it doesn’t stop there.
CES also offers exclusive products from its in-house manufacturer, TAMCO Group, which is composed of the brands Tamlite Lighting, Fusion Lamps, F4P, MCG Industrial, RPP, and Centaur Electrical Installation.
And while that’s a pretty big plus, CES doesn’t stop there either.
CES also regularly invests in employee education so that no matter what you’re working on, no matter where you are, there’s a CES employee ready to get the products and the information you need for your project.
That’s what those 60 CES employees did in North Carolina. They studied innovative new TAMCO products so they could provide their customers with product knowledge as well as supplies. Specifically, they were studying motor control gear.
Motor Control Gear Training with TAMCO
“The goal is to help CES branches offer even more than they already do for their industrial customers,” explained one of the event’s coordinators, RPP & MCG Product Manager Kyler Morehead with TAMCO.
TAMCO strives to be a strong resource for CES so that CES can be a strong resource for customers. And Morehead is passionate about this mission.
“If branches don’t feel comfortable talking about our product lines and what they can do, we want to help with that,” explained Morehead. “We do that by educating and training the branch network as well as supporting them in the field and over the phone.”
And to give you an indication of how passionate Morehead is about helping branches, he drove 10 hours to do it.
“We planned to fly to North Carolina, but our flight was canceled at the last minute because of a tropical storm,” explained Morehead. “So, we packed up the car and drove the 10 hours. We take time to plan these trainings, and the guys in the branches take time to attend them. The last thing we wanted to do was cancel.”
And the drive was worth it.
“The event was a huge success,” said Morehead. “We had a lot of laughs and great discussions. They are very exciting, interactive trainings. We talk about things together, go through questions people might have, and have a good time.”
Unquestionable Success
But you don’t have to take Morehead’s word for it. One attendee was Michael Grant, an employee at CES Lexington with 33 years of experience on the industrial side of the electrical industry.
“Kyler and the MCG crew had an excellent presentation. I personally felt like it was simplified enough that even the newest CES employees could follow along,” said Grant. “MCG and the direction they’re taking will only benefit branches and their customer relationships in the future.”
TAMCO Regional Sales Manager Eric Whitley is also a big supporter of the training sessions.
“The greatest value from these MCG training sessions is that CES staff becomes more comfortable selling motor control products,” said Whitley. “It’s easier to help customers when you have a deep understanding of the products you offer. My favorite part is getting calls from branch managers saying they were impressed by the training and that they need MCG on their shelves.”
The event was unquestionably a success, and Morehead doesn’t plan on stopping here.
“I look forward to doing more trainings. As many as we can, wherever we can,” said Morehead.
