A new value-added service for real-world industrial automation systems and controls has launched at City Electric Supply (CES)! In partnership with Siemens Digital Industries (DI), Industrial Automation Solutions (IAS) will help existing and potential customers better run and easily manage these systems through data-driven digitalization from start to finish.
“IAS will allow us to expand the expertise, technology, and support we provide to our customers through professionally engineered industrial automation and control systems,” said Rich Antonaros, vice president of Centralized Branch Services. “We’re excited to bring these capabilities to businesses across North America.”
Introducing Industrial Automation Solutions (IAS)
Industrial Automation Solutions (IAS), with support from Centralized Branch Services, a team of dedicated specialists, and CES team members, will drive innovation and increase productivity regardless of location through access to in-demand, certified, and professionally engineered industrial automation and control systems.
“Branches can now work with a specialized team to provide quotes, spec sheets, and approvals, while these highly technical products are stored in our fulfillment centers,” said Antonaros.
“We have application engineering, control panel solutions, drive specialists, PLC systems, and troubleshooting in all those areas. There are a wide range of services,” said CES Vice President of Operations R.T. Smith.
Expanding our capabilities and range of services
In extension of CES One-Line Service, our in-house switchgear assembly and distribution service for custom gear packages, IAS will serve as a way to control what we’re bringing power to — supplying everything from panelboards, switchboards, MCCs, and SCADA systems.
“IAS can also work with CES One-Line Service to optimize and support engineer drawings and setups for enhanced efficiency and performance,” added Antonaros.
“CES One-Line Service created a blueprint for how CES could centralize support while still enabling its entrepreneurial branch network,” said Jaime Marujo, CES vice president of operations. “I think it set the tone for what our branches will look like five, 10 years down the road, and the core of CES as an electrical distributor.”

Integral to the development of IAS, Siemens, along with Rittal, Eplan, Wieland Electric, Lutze Automation, and Grace Technologies, will be essential suppliers and software providers of this new service.
