Safety Sue | Suzann Smaldone | Safety & Property Manager

City Electric Supply Blog | Safety SueToday we celebrate Suzann “Safety Sue” Smaldone’s three-year anniversary as the Safety and Building Manager for TAMCO. She currently manages nine facilities including Dallas and South Carolina.

Safety Sue spends her days inspecting factories to ensure safety standards are being met. After her assessments, she ensures measures are taken to correct issues that need to be addressed.

Safety Sue served as the Safety Coordinator for Emcor group, a large construction company in New York, for six years. She left Emcor Group to have children and become a stay-at-home mom. She eventually found herself in Florida where she took up a position at the local Chili’s. Sue put in six years before she one day met TAMCO General Manager Frank McShane.

Sue discussed her extensive qualifications and experience as a safety coordinator in New York. Frank asked if she would be interested in working for him – one week later she interviewed and two weeks later she was hired.

Safety Sue holds multiple certifications including OSHA 30hr, CPR, and First Aid to name a few. She also conducts new employee forklift training and updates associates on ever-changing safety procedures. Her other responsibilities include maintenance repairs, fleet, and new construction projects.

Sue is happily married to her husband Chris Smaldone. In her spare time, she loves watching her oldest son Christopher, 14, play baseball. Her youngest son, Nicolas, enjoys cars – especially Mustangs. She enjoys camping and loves to run!
