Relocating & Renovating: CES Branches Receive Essential Upgrades
City Electric Supply (CES) is not only continuing to expand across North America by opening new branches, but also giving existing ones an upgrade. Recently, they relocated a branch in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and gave a fresh new look to their branches in Rome, Georgia, and Charlotte, North Carolina.
With a significant footprint in the Southeastern region of the U.S. for over 40 years, long-standing CES branches are getting a fresh revamp to continue providing customers with personalized service. How? By ensuring that they have the space and resources needed to maintain the unmatched service customers know and love.
Check out how these branches brought about big changes.
Bursting at the seams
CES Tuscaloosa is located just over a mile from a well-known football stadium within a bustling college town in Alabama. Such proximity to a large university could bring extra foot traffic, but as the branch continued to grow, so did the need for more parking spaces.
“We relocated to accommodate our growth,” said Branch Manager Jonathan Mullinax. “The new space offers ample square footage and an exterior pipe yard, allowing us to store more materials. Additionally, the improved parking situation makes it easier for our customers to visit us.”
They signed a new lease agreement at the end of December 2023. After that, they only had 45 days to relocate the entire branch — and the entire team worked together to make the move happen. They also notified customers and maintained a seamless customer experience throughout, and it was worth it in the end!
“It was a true team effort that made this happen,” said Mullinax. “Thanks to everyone’s hard work, we now have everything we need to continue to grow and serve the community.”
When in Rome…renovate
Branch Manager David Combs of CES Rome in Georgia knew the right time had come to renovate the store.
“The branch has been here for around two decades, and we’ve always wanted to enhance our space. Now, everything has aligned perfectly to make the renovation happen,” said Combs.
With an empty suite newly available and two sets of plans drawn up, he was ready to go.
“We’re expanding to 2,600 square feet — more than doubling our showroom,” Combs explained. “And once the full renovation is complete, we’ll have a whole suite as a warehouse!”
The renovation of CES Rome officially began around the end of 2023. Work so far has included floors cut, plumbing updated, new sheet rock installed, walls painted, internet upgraded, and more.
“We’ve also gotten a new desk and new shelving that we assembled earlier this year, thanks to help from our District Manager Scott Rogers,” said Combs.
While the project is still ongoing, the CES Rome team looks forward to showing off the finished product to customers and vendor partners soon.
“We plan to throw a grand re-opening event to celebrate. We’ve already got a lot of vendor partners booked, and we hope customers come visit our new and improved branch,” said Combs.
CES Westinghouse gets updated
Last summer, CES Westinghouse went through transformative renovations, revitalizing and enhancing service capabilities.
“This branch is almost 25 years old. We’re a top-performing branch every year, and we’re excited to give the branch an upgrade to continue providing the best service to our customers,” said Branch Manager Daniel Mills.
The updates included the floors, walls, and ceiling — a true, all-around renovation.
“While we kept the branch well-maintained, we knew that updating it would make a big difference,” added Mills. “Our goal was to create a space that both customers and team members would truly enjoy.”
Contractors began the renovations around June, as the team continued to put customer service at the forefront.
Overall, the project took two months to complete. Not only was the branch updated, but it was also rearranged for optimal efficiency.
“We relocated the counter to the back of the store to make it easier for customers to browse our products,” added Mills. “This also opens up more space, so even with a busy store, there’s plenty of room for everyone to comfortably wait, sit, or explore without feeling crowded.”
Customers have expressed their appreciation for the enhancements, enjoying the fresh changes and overall improvement — and that’s truly what it’s all about!
