Making Moves in Martha’s Vineyard

Reading Time: 2 minutes

On a small island off the coast of Massachusetts, Concord Electric Supply (CES) opened its first branch within the nearly 90-square-mile area.

“Martha’s Vineyard is one of the two islands located off the coast of Cape Cod. It’s 45 minutes by ferry or about 15 minutes if you want to get here by plane,” explained Branch Manager Justin Tullock.

An island location already has its challenges. But the famous Martha’s Vineyard also brings a special kind of expectation.

“We have a pretty high-end clientele. A lot of celebrities and former politicians live here.”

In a place where the rich and famous reside, CES Martha’s Vineyard must offer services on a grand scale.

“No two days are the same. No two orders are the same,” said Justin. “One project we have at the moment is a custom package for one of the golf courses on the Vineyard. But we also have had jobs for houses up to 20,000 square feet that require 400 to 1,200-amp service, which is pretty uncommon in the residential market.”

Up to the Challenge

Despite the number of custom supplies needed to complete these jobs, Justin is sure that the Martha’s Vineyard team is up to the challenge.

“Paulo DaRosa, our operations manager, has lived on the island for five or six years. He has a lot of friends and contacts, particularly in the construction field. His knowledge of electricians, tradesmen, and homeowners is beneficial for the new branch in building relationships with the community.”

Not only does the Martha’s Vineyard branch offer the connections, but it also has the experience to back it up.

“I have almost 15 years of experience in the industry overall,” Justin added.

“I started working in the field with my dad part-time when I was a sophomore in high school. Once I graduated, I worked with him full time for about three to four years before I came to CES.”

Between working on and off with his dad, Justin began his career with Concord Electric Supply at the South Dennis location as a sales representative before being promoted to branch manager at CES Martha’s Vineyard.

This newly opened branch has a lot to offer to the area. And so far, many agree.

“The three things our customer base has been impressed with is our pricing model, business hours, and jobsite delivery services.”

But Justin and the team don’t just want to impress customers. They want to be their top service provider on Martha’s Vineyard.

“I want this branch to be the go-to electrical supplier on the island. I’m ready to get off to a great start.”
