Mackie Monday | CES Cares!
Before kicking off this Mackie Monday, I want to take the opportunity to wish all of our customers, suppliers, coworkers, and their families across the United States happy holidays and all the best for 2016!
This Mackie Monday, I want to talk about the important topic of medical insurance. As anyone who has been through a serious medical incident knows, either for themselves or with a loved one, good medical care is critical…but at times, hugely expensive. One thing I would like for all of you to know is that over the years I have been exposed to medical care for family and friends in a multitude of different countries. I can assure you the level of care in the United States is far superior to anything I have experienced anywhere else. There is no doubt, however, that this level of care comes at a considerable price.
As many of you probably know, medical costs are rising quickly causing many companies to cut benefits or raise premiums for their employees. I am pleased to say that at CES we are doing the complete opposite. This year, despite being faced with a massive cost increase, our CES medical committee, composed of James Henderson (CFO), Jim Lawson (General Manager), Neil Mallinson (General Manager), and Andy Hayward (Regional Accountant) worked diligently to find a solution that would not only allow the company to reduce the monthly out-of-pocket premiums for our employees, but also to reduce your deductibles as well, meaning the same standard of care at a more affordable price to you and your family.
Over the coming weeks, you will receive information about the launch of the new CESBenefits.com. This website is a one-stop resource for information regarding the transition to our new third-party administrator, GPA, details about a new resource for medical questions called Nurse Navigator, as well as videos from the medical committee explaining the changes that have taken place.
If you have any questions during the transition from Blue Cross Blue Shield to GPA, please, do not hesitate to contact your local payroll office or divisional accountant.
Once again, I would like to wish you all a very happy and HEALTHY 2016!
