Houston North Group Holds Inaugural Sales Shark Competition

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The Houston North Group, consisting of 12 City Electric Supply branches, held its inaugural Sales Shark competition on Dec. 12.

The primary purpose of the contest is to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the Houston sales force. TheSales Shark Trophy underlying goal is to teach our sales representatives to be prepared and focus on knowing their chosen product. Additionally, they are granted an opportunity to learn something about a new product and take away tips and hints on things to do, or not do while making a sales call.

The contestants were asked to pick a product or manufacturer and prepare a 15 to 20 minute presentation to highlight their selection then ”sell it” to the group.

The assembled group consisted of peers from the other branches, as well as a panel of three judges: Houston North Group Manager Bill Brunner, Humble City Electric Supply Branch Manager Jeremy Sweaton, and Katy City Electric Supply Branch Manager George Polk.

Overall it was a great success and well received by all. It was a positive meeting and everyone took the advice and feedback from the group in the manner it was intended to help further their sales expertise.

“I have a good group of guys out on the street,” Brunner said after the meeting. “I fully expect that the next competition could see an entirely different outcome in the top three, “ he added.

Congratulations to our Top Three Sales Sharks!

2nd place: Clint McGee (HUM)

3rd place: David Grierson (CYF)
