High Bay Success in North Carolina
Last month, Jeff Sharpe at City Electric Supply Burlington in Burlington, North Carolina was presented with an opportunity to offer a quote to CT Nassau Tape, LLC. The quote provided an LED option to light an expansion of the Alamance North Carolina Ticking Plant. This facility is involved in cutting edge manufacturing of materials used in mattress covers for many leading brands in the industry.
Initially, a Cree LED unit was requested. As part of the initial quote, a lead-time of four to six weeks was necessary to produce and ship these units.
Unfortunately, due to time constraints on the expansion, the quoted lead-time was not workable.
At this point, Sharpe got the Tamlite (subsidiary of sister company TAMCO) HID division involved to offer an alternative option.
Provided with the dimensions of the expansion, Tamlite built a proposed layout and quote for Tamlite’s LED high bay unit. It was determined that one hundred thirty five fixtures would be required to meet the customer’s specification for light levels.
At this point, cut sheets were provided to the customer for confirmation and the unit was approved. One key detail in this process, obviously, was not only performance and application, but lead-time.
The Tamlite units quoted were factory stock, which was very appealing. The units were approved and the order was placed on April 22. CT Nassau Tape, LLC, worked in conjunction with Electrical Service Providers, another Burlington branch customer, to handle the install at the plant.
Andy Helton Electric seamlessly handled the install and met all time requirements to get the units installed.
The project went well and CT Nassau is very pleased with the end result.
As a result of the project’s completion, Tamlite and the Burlington branch hope to soon have the opportunity to look at other lighting opportunities in CT Nassau’s other facilities.
Congratulations, Jeff Sharpe and staff, Tamlite HID, and electrical service providers for a job well done!
