City Electric Supply Customer Gets a Big Surprise in Keller, Texas
When longtime City Electric Supply Keller customer, Pedro (Tony) Villafranca, found out he won a fishing boat, he said he couldn’t believe it was real.
“I thought maybe it was a joke or someone was trying to get my personal information. I was excited like people are on ‘The Price is Right’ when I realized I had actually won.”
Tony is the owner of the electrical company, Tony Electric Inc.
Tony Electric is an electrical contractor that services mainly commercial businesses such as medical and dental offices, and residential clients. They perform a variety of jobs including new construction, services, and remodeling. Pedro has been a loyal customer of 15 years to Keith Schoonover, CES Keller’s branch manager.
“I shop with City Electric Supply because they deliver exactly what I need on-site and they’re fast,” Tony said. By purchasing over $250 worth of Topaz brand products, he was entered into the drawing of a Heritage Bass Tracker 40th Edition. Tony said he had forgotten about the drawing because he already buys Topaz products for his business.
Topaz is an electrical and lighting manufacturer and a vendor of City Electric Supply. Earlier in June this year, Topaz representatives were present at the North American Managers Conference (NAMC) to offer their products. The NAMC is a three-day event that recognizes achievements from City Electric Supply employees nationwide and brings together branch managers, sales reps, and vendors. At the conference, CES districts nationwide raffled off for the chance to hold the Topaz promotion in their district.
“It was the most successful trade show in 33 years, and we will definitely be doing more giveaways in the future,” said Carrie Schwabacher, VP of Sales for Topaz. She said they chose to do a fishing boat giveaway because it reflected the outdoor theme of the conference.
Nine CES stores belonging to the Dallas-Fort Worth District participated in the Bass Tracker giveaway. Customers of these branches were entered into the drawing by purchasing any Topaz products. Customers who purchased $250 worth of products received one entry into the contest, and $1,000 purchases received five entries. The contest ran for three months.
“This promotion was extremely successful. CES is our number one customer, and their customers are great and very loyal. CES is undergoing a tremendous amount of growth, and so are we, so we love supporting that. We are not so corporate. We have a relaxed and friendly relationship,” Schwabacher said.
Due to the adoption of energy-efficient LED technology, Topaz Director of Marketing, Paul Bonnette, said he has seen increased sales in LED lighting and fixtures. Topaz offers a wide variety of products including electrical conduit fittings, traditional lighting, recessed lighting, and more.
“Topaz is a great business partner for us, and they make it very easy to do business with them. As City Electric Supply grows their business and opens more branches, they expand alongside us,” CES District Manager, Mitchell Caulder, said. “This contest was beneficial for both Topaz and CES.”
