CES Needham, MA: Concord Expands Reach Outside Boston

[Needham, Massachusetts] — Concord Electric Supply has opened a new branch with experienced staff in Needham, a suburb of Boston. The vibrant city is known for their strong sense of community, but they have been growing and attracting technology and Internet firms such as PTC and TripAdvisor.

Branch Manager Tim McInerney, Jr. grew up in the town of Needham where he started working at his family’s electrical company at the age of 13. Concord Electric Supply hired McInerney as a branch manager a year ago, and since then he’s been building his customer base and preparing for the opening of the branch, along with creating new accounts.

“Marketing and advertising our name over the last year has played a huge role in the opening. I played delivery boy, printed out flyers, and just worked on getting the word out about our opening,” McInerney said.

Finding the ideal building and location within a reasonable budget was the toughest part of opening the branch.

“We have been looking for a place to open the last year, and it definitely has not been the easiest.”

After finding a suitable location right off I-95, mapping out the best possible layout, displaying the products, and figuring out the best product lines to carry for the area helped make the branch more accommodating for the customers McInerney expects.

Although he believes the majority of his customer base will be residential, his determination to expand and tap more into the commercial and industrial side of Needham stands out.

“I know we can supply their needs as much as we can residential contractors. It may take time, but I believe we will soon be supplying them with anything they need,” McInerney said.

The knowledgeable staff at Needham excites McInerney because he knows they’ll be able to help with any customer projects or jobs, no matter how complicated.

“When you combine over 40 years of experience among the entire team and have in-house stock that will accommodate a customer’s list 100 percent, we have no doubt that our branch will be unique and successful in Needham.”

When expressing his excitement for the people he works with and their experience, McInerney could not ignore the fact that his dad will be working with him at the branch.

“I am very lucky to be working with my father. He brought me into the business and built my core values and knowledge of the electrical industry,” said McInerney. “He’ll be a huge asset to the branch as a whole.”

McInerney appreciates CES because of the knowledgeable support network helping his branch.
