CES Lawrenceville, NJ: Experienced Branch Finds New Opportunity for Growth
[Lawrenceville, New Jersey] — City Electric Supply opened a new branch in Lawrenceville, a town centrally located in the heart of Mercer County with a unique blend of corporate, commercial, and residential communities.
Branch Manager Bill Scannon joined City Electric Supply a little over a year ago and has prepared to open this branch since March 2018.
Over the last year, Scannon scoured the area to find the perfect location in Mercer County. After four months, the team found a vacant auto parts store to begin renovations, designing it to be the ideal space for their customers.
“The location we selected has been empty for a decade. Because it was an auto parts store, we had the chance to do something unique with the three garage door bays,” Scannon said. “We decided to use those garage door bays to showcase our warehouse, so whenever we host counter days and other special events, we can really spread out.”
As the Lawrenceville team completed renovations, ensuring the warehouse was well-stocked with a variety of products and vendors proved to be one of the more challenging parts of the branch’s opening.
“We wanted to make sure we had what our customers needed in the store. Anticipating what they would likely request and what vendors they would prefer was quite challenging, but I think we got a good mix here,” Scannon said.
In addition to the one-of-a-kind floor layout, the branch will also be extremely unique due to the amount of experience the team brings. With over 50 years of combined experience across the team, Scannon believes the branch’s success will come from their history of hard work.
“One of my favorite characteristics of my team is that we all enjoy having fun doing what we do.”
Scannon enjoys working for CES because of its family-first culture and the chance to make his own choices, allowing him to run his branch his way while concentrating on sales and service.
“The commitment from upper management to give us the tools we need is unprecedented,” Scannon said. “Throughout the entire process of opening this branch, they’ve given me everything I needed. Having the support and trust from City Electric Supply is part of the reason they’ve been so successful, and I look forward to doing the same here.”
Although there are many reasons why he enjoys working for CES, the employees on his team are his favorite part.
“I have surrounded myself with quality people who get along great and have a common goal to provide the best service around,” Scannon said. “In order to enjoy your job, you must enjoy going to work every day, and we do that at our branch. Having the right team in place is one of the first steps to having success, and we should have no problem in that department.”
The Lawrenceville team is excited for the adventure that lays ahead. They know how hard it is to be a contractor and find a store that has exactly what they need. With the experience they have from all the fields they’ve worked in before, contractors should have no problem getting in and out of CES Lawrenceville quickly.
“We will do everything in our power to have what our customers need on hand,” Scannon said. “If not, we will make sure to get it in the same day. We want to provide the best customer service, even if we need to make deliveries. We’ll do whatever it takes to keep our customers happy and coming back to us.”
