CES La Vergne, TN: Suburban Lake Town Gets Large, Newly Renovated Branch
[La Vergne, Tennessee] — A close suburb of Nashville and even closer to the beautiful, 14,000-acre Percy Priest Lake, La Vergne is the home of a new City Electric Supply branch in a city that has seen its fair share of historical moments.
Branch Manager Rusty Tidwell moved to the area when he joined City Electric Supply a little over a year ago. Since then, he has worked on deciding where and when to open his new branch, and he finally found a location in October 2018.
“The branch is located conveniently off of the very busy I-24 corridor, near Percy Priest Lake,” Tidwell said.
When he found the location in October, Tidwell hired a contractor to come in and completely renovate the space to fit their needs. The business before was used as a transfer dock for tractors and trailers, occupying well over 9,000 square feet. The building had doors on all three sides, so they first needed to demolish the building for a proper storefront that included the sales counter. With so much available square footage, the La Vergne branch will have an astounding location with plenty of product lines on hand.
“After finishing the building, we had to set up the showroom and front room to entice customers not only to come visit, but to keep coming back,” Tidwell said.
While the contractor was working on renovations, Tidwell focused on hiring a team to help make the branch successful.
“I was able to hire an outside salesman with industry knowledge and promote an operations manager from another location,” he said. “Building a team that has knowledge of the industry and CES will certainly be a big help.”
The La Vergne team has over 40 years of combined experience, and Tidwell believes their go-getter attitude will bring many customers into their branch.
In a town of over 35,000 people, Tidwell anticipates the customers will range anywhere from industrial to commercial, with a few residential customers stopping by in between.
“The town varies from manufacturers to sales facilities, so I expect a variety of customers,” stated Tidwell. “The leeway we have to stock for customers in our market will help make us successful. We will be able to provide whatever our customers want whenever they need it.”
With one year under his belt at CES, Tidwell has enjoyed learning about the company, and he’s excited to have his own branch.
“Understanding the CES way of doing business is exciting. Learning about where the company started and where it has gone with each individual branch has been a cool experience. I’m interested in seeing what I can do with my own branch and help this company grow.”
