CES Jonesboro, Arkansas: Lighting Up the Second-Fastest Growing City in Arkansas
[Jonesboro, Arkansas] – From the restaurants and cafes to the museums, galleries, and shops, opening a branch in Jonesboro was a no brainer. The town was previously rated one of the safest places to live in the country, and it is famous for its cooperative community spirit and friendly citizens.
Branch Manager Kris Hammons has been with City Electric Supply since October 2019 when he was hired to open a branch in Jonesboro.
“I am excited to open a branch here, as the city of Jonesboro is the second fastest growing city in Arkansas.”
Although Hammons has only been with the company for a short time, he brings nine years of experience to the team, resulting in a combined 50 years of experience in the commercial, residential, and industrial markets.
“The cool part of opening this branch is that I was able to hire individuals who I have worked with since starting in the industry,” said Hammons. “We worked together at our previous jobs and transitioned together.”
Since Hammons has started with the company, he mentioned how much of a learning experience the process of opening the branch has been.
“CES is a much larger company than where we all came from,” said Hammons. “There has been a lot of help along the way, and everyone is really quick to help and answer any questions we have. It truly has been a welcoming experience.”
Prior to the branch opening, the building originally held business for an electrical contractor.
“For the most part, the process wasn’t painful. We knocked out offices, redid the lighting and floors, and hung slat boards. We also set up pallet racking and shelving for the warehouse,” said Hammons. “It took about two months.”
Hammons favorite part of working for CES is the responsibility and the sense of ownership that comes with opening the branch.
“I enjoy the support and the people I get to work with daily. Everyone’s willing to help, and everyone is positive and encouraging in the process.”
He believes the branch is going to be unique because of the experience everyone brings to the table.
“My team has a combined 50 years of experience in the industry, and they know what it takes to make sure customers are treated with the utmost respect, like family. That is going to make our branch unique and outstanding.”
