CES Highland: New Electrical Supplier Near Chicago is a Team of Go-Getters
The newest electrical supplier near Chicago lies within a community of friendly faces, a dozen incredible parks, and a rapidly growing suburb. Located just south of Chicago in Highland, Indiana, our newest branch is open and ready to serve contractors in the residential and commercial markets.
Branch Manager Jason Markase lived in Highland about 20 years ago and recently returned to lead City Electric Supply Highland. He still finds the town as charming today, with polite customers who welcome the new branch.
“It sounds cliché, but seeing how the customers interact with the employees is honestly the coolest experience. Our customers actually enjoy coming in and spending time with us,” Markase said.
Opportunity Around Every Corner
Located at 45th Street and Kennedy Avenue, CES Highland serves a melting pot of electrical supply demand.
New families continue to move to the Highland area, leading to a surge in home construction and new businesses. Meanwhile, existing homes and businesses are remodeling, renovating, and updating their current lighting technology.
“Right now, we’re focusing on serving the small- to mid-size businesses. But I don’t think we’ll have a specific type of customer. I already have quite a few customers ranging from commercial to HVAC to residential,” Markase said.
District Manager Jeff Williamson said the Highland branch deeply researches and strategizes approaching new customers. Part of that strategy is knowing which brands their local customers value, such as Milwaukee Tool, Klein Tools, and Generac. Williamson mentioned that the relationship between CES and its vendors would allow the branch to meet industrial customer needs, too.
“Everyone here loves Milwaukee products, so we have a wall of them when you first walk in. When we mention Milwaukee to potential customers we visit, their eyes light up, and they invite us in,” Williamson said.
Williamson also credits President and CEO Thomas Hartland-Mackie for many positive internal technology changes that keep CES competitive.
The Extra Mile with a Smile
With over nine years in the industry, Branch Manager Markase appreciates his switch to CES. The atmosphere and people make all the difference to him.
“As soon as I had my first interview, I knew this company was special. Everyone is happy to be at work and loves what they do. I found people who don’t mind going the extra mile to help,” Markase said.
Branch Manager Markase also spoke highly of his new Highland branch team, including Counter Sales Vincent Carroll and Operations Manager Joseph Franklin.
Carroll worked with Markase at a previous electrical distributor and says he has a heart of gold, always working to exceed expectations. Franklin also has years of experience working with data and, in Markase’s own words, is a whiz at anything related to technology.
This go-getter team for the newest electrical supplier near Chicago looks to add a driver to round out their customer service. They will also have product support from 17 other branches within a 50-mile radius to provide same-day and next-day delivery.
“My team are all go-getters who want to make this one of the best branches in the district,” Markase said. “We provide grade-A service and get them back on the job in no time at all. A customer is never a burden here.”
