CES Danville, VA: Open for Business

[Danville, Virginia] – The newest City Electric Supply branch, located in Danville, Virginia, is open for business.

Branch Manager Jacob Sharpe has been with the company for 16 years and is joining the rest of the Danville branch staff from his position as branch manager at City Electric Supply West Lake.

Operations Manager Robert Daniels also has experience with the company and is returning to City Electric Supply after eight years away. A sales rep with 30 years’ experience in the industry and several other staff members who have backgrounds with CES and other electrical distributors complete what District Manager Billy Barham says is a well-rounded team.

Barham believes the staff’s previous experience with area competitors and knowledge of the local market have allowed them to build strong relationships with local contractors and other CES branches, which will help the new branch become a success. Even with fresh paint still on the doors, they already have some big accounts to welcome.

“Obviously a lot is expected of us for the investment the company makes in these new branches, but I think there’s an excitement for the team to make their mark here and they’re ready to do that,” Barham said. “They’re ready to invest the time and effort to distinguish themselves to the local contractors here and earn those opportunities.”

But it isn’t only contractors that can take advantage of CES Danville’s diverse product base and excellent customer service. Barham hopes the branch’s location in a busy retail park, close to Walmart and other retail and restaurant outlets, will encourage walk-ins and more business from the general public.

“We certainly plan on catering to anybody that walks in the front door, whether that’s a happy homeowner or do-it-yourself guy or whatever, we’ll certainly take care of them just like anywhere else,” Barham said.

Danville’s general location in the region also positions them to take advantage of a strong local CES branch network, while potentially filling a gap in the market. Barham sees the branch acting as a bridge between CES Greensboro customers and branches in the Lynchburg/Roanoke area.

“We’ve kind of got a soft area here in the middle, so Danville should be a good bridge of convenience for contractors from some other branches that might find us convenient more so than trying to make their way up there if they’re doing projects in the area,” Barham said. “So, I think it will be beneficial to some branches around us, too.”
