CES Alachua: Big Growth in a Small Town
[Alachua, Florida] – City Electric Supply is excited to open a new branch in a small town where everyone knows and helps each other — Alachua, Florida. The tourist town known for scuba diving and natural springs is the perfect location for Branch Manager Kyle Davis, who is excited to be a part of the town’s growth and new freeway.
“I believe the town is growing and that the new freeway and bypass will help our town and branch grow into something bigger,” said Davis.
Davis started at the company as an outside sales representative almost two years ago.
“When I first came to work for the company, I was told I would be working as an outside sales representative due to my experience,” said Davis. “But after a few months, I was given the opportunity to open a new branch.”
Before Davis came to work for CES, he worked in the industry for two years and then specifically for an industry competitor for 23, where he specialized in industrial material, utility, and data communications.
“The diverse background I bring to the business is going to help our branch bring in new customers and a new market,” said Davis.
Over the last year and a half, Davis and his team have been prepping the branch to fit their customers’ needs.
“When we first found the building, we had to start from scratch,” said Davis. “We had to tear up carpet, build counter space, and even build a mezzanine. We are actually still completing the process but are fully operational at the same time.”
As tough as it has been for Davis and his team, he did not forget to mention their branch has still been working hard on a daily basis and attracting new customers.
“Our building is located in the middle of an industrial park, so many contractors and customers come in for industrial material,” said Davis.
According to Davis, their branch is A-to-Z, covering all industry needs. Although the branch is located in the industrial park, they plan on seeing a diverse group of customers from across residential, commercial, and utility markets.
“When I came over to CES, I brought a lot of industrial business. Many of my long-term relationships have carried over to the branch,” said Davis. “We also have a local utility company close to us, so we plan on doing a good amount of business with them.”
As unique as the branch is in looks and location, Davis believes the branch is going to really stand out because of the materials and knowledgeable staff at the branch.
“We have a good amount of material many stores do not, plus our team has many veterans in the business with a lot of experience under the belts,” said Davis. “Our team also has over 60 years of combined experience. My operations manager has been with CES Ocala for around eight years, and my inside sales representative and warehouse employee both have over 15 years of experience each.”
Over the last two years, Davis has really enjoyed the family atmosphere at CES, his great bosses, and being part of a company that encourages advancement.
“Although I have only been here a short time, I enjoy being able to do my own thing,” said Davis. “Where I came from, it was unified, so being able to have leeway to develop my own branch and bring in industrial accounts has been the best part about being with this company.”
