A New Supplier Heads to Temple
About 45 minutes north of Austin, there is a new City Electric Supply branch ready to serve the community of Temple, Texas.
“Temple is just a great area. It’s like one of those TV shows like ‘Friday Night Lights.’ When the local high school football team is playing, the whole city is there. It’s just an awesome community of people,” said Branch Manager Keith Kellum.
Being close to large population areas like Killeen and Fort Hood offers an opportunity for CES Temple to make its mark in a growing industry.
“Temple has gone through a population growth of nearly 30% since 2010. It’s a fast-growing area. The demand is there,” said District Manager Mehs Ess.
And Branch Manager Keith Kellum is ready to use his more than 30 years of industry experience to help establish CES Temple.
“I’ve worked for other suppliers over the years. I was working for another company in Daphne, Alabama, when CES came calling,” Keith explained.
But this isn’t Keith’s first rodeo with City Electric Supply.
“Prior to this, Keith was our branch manager at the Pflugerville location near Austin,” Mehs added.
A Growing Branch
As CES Temple grows, so does the branch team.
“I have, Jay, my operations manager. He’s relatively new. I also have a new counter salesperson, Whitney. We’re soon adding a driver and an outside salesman,” Keith said.
Even though the team is still growing, the current branch members have the skills to make this new branch a success.
“Jay is very smart, very meticulous. He doesn’t ever go over or under what he needs to buy. Whitney, she’s very personable. People love her when they come over to the counter,” Keith added.
The new branch plans to grow its customer base in Temple by providing services that other suppliers don’t.
“What the CES Temple branch has to offer is heavier on the residential side of the market. Most suppliers in the area are more industrial-focused, with some commercial. CES Temple has the potential to fill a hole in that market,” Mehs explained.
And giving customers quality service will be the main priority for the branch.
“Where we shine is our service. We’re service-driven. You call other suppliers, and they’ll have you on a truck for tomorrow. You call us, we’ll be there right now,” Keith added.
We’re sure with the growing team and the growing market, CES Temple will hit its stride and become a mainstay in the area.
